Applying for an award

The John Moran Educational Trust makes a minimum of one award per year of up to £1000.00 to facilitate the higher education of a selected student or students.

Who qualifies?

In order to qualify for an award students must :-

  • Be eligible to receive a maintenance grant .
  • Have lived in the Merseyside area for at least three years prior to application.

In most circumstances awards will be made for the duration of a three year course.

What is the process for applying?

Before you apply please make sure that you have read and understood the timetable for application

The award process involves:

  • The completion of an application form. This should be downloaded from the web site.
  • An accompanying letter. You should write this letter and send it, together with the application form to The John Moran Educational Trust, PO Box 129, Aylesbury, HP22 4XE. From the applications the trust will draw up a shortlist of applicants to interview.
  • Successful candidates will be invited for interview. Interviews will take place in Liverpool and will be carried out by a panel consisting of a minimum of three trustees
  • References. We will take up the references you have provided.
Timetable 2007 - 2008

Closing date for applications is Friday 11th April 2008.  All application must be received by first post on this date. The shortlist of candidates for interview will be drawn up shortly afterwards.

Interviews will be held in June 2008

If you have not heard from us by Monday 9th May 2008 you will unfortunately, not be called for interview.

Unsuccessful applications will be destroyed four weeks after the closing date.
Only records for the award holders will be kept, in line with data protection legislation.
